So, earlier this summer, I contacted vanlife outfitters to get a comparison of the 12000 btu mabru vs the dometic rtx. We have a big battery bank and inverter, but don't run the rear AC off it as it would still quickly get depleted. We have a generator and run the rear AC off it if necessary, so a 12V AC is not the ONLY solution. You are going to need a second alternator, which is expensive. None of the alternators for my year are rated to provide 100 Amps to auxiliary equipment. ![]() I don't think you can take that from the stock alternator. I don't think you can run this AC off a DC to DC converter. Properly charged, the front AC does reach to the rear, although it isn't great back there. This isn't a good candidate for try it and see how it goes. I'm just suggesting you run all the numbers carefully, or you will wind up with a system that doesn't actually cut it and have to throw more money you didn't expect at it.
